Cockpit Window Assembly Repair & Overhaul

Pacific Aero Tech uses the following procedures in the overhaul of sliding window assemblies:

  • The unit is completely disassembled and inspected. Inspection includes visual, ultrasonic, magnetic particle and fluorescent or dye penetration.
  • The window is stripped to the maximum breakdown possible. All paint and primer is removed, along with any other coatings. 
  • The frame is replated, anodized, alodized, primed and painted.
  • The glass is polished to optical clarity or the window panel is replaced.
  • The unit is reassembled with new hardware, bearings, bushings, seals and spacers.
  • Any Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Engineering Orders and other engineering directives specified by the customer are carried out.
  • The final assembly is inspected and certified in accordance with the OEMs Component Maintenance Manual.

Window Assembly Refurbishment

Pacific Aero Tech follows these procedures in the overhaul of acrylic transparencies:

  • The unit is completely disassembled and inspected. Inspection includes visual and ultrasonic thickness test.
  • The panel is sanded, machine-polished and edge-routed as necessary to remove crazing, scratches or chips.
  • Edge chips are repaired as necessary.
  • The unit is reassembled with new seals, grommets and spacers.
  • Any Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Engineering Orders and other engineering directives specified by the customer are carried out.
  • The final assembly is inspected and certified in accordance with the OEM's Component Maintenance Manual.

Lens Repair

Pacific Aero Tech offers full nose, tail and wing tip lens refurbishment. Frames are repaired and lenses are restored to factory-level clarity for a fraction of new part cost.
